Every year on the 5th day of May if it is a good year we listen to ISIS by Bob Dylan.
I suggest that every one who is so compelled to add it to their list of things to do on Cinco de Mayo. Have a margarita and give this treasure a listen.
Bob is amazing in his ability to capture longing, uncertainty, life and death and the wilderness we find ourselves in when we trust another human with our fate. Love and peace to Bob and all Bobs!
"I married Isis on the fifth day of May,
But I could not hold on to her very long.
So I cut off my hair and I rode straight away
For the wild unknown country where I could not go wrong."
Today is the 25 year anniversary of Brad's and I my first date.
We've traveled a fur piece since those days of Giovanni's pizza and Officer and a Gentleman.
This last month has been very busy and sadly I haven't found as much time for the blogging, but I am going to try to get back on it.
We saw the Todd Haynes flick I'm Not There about the Bob. The soundtrack is terrific! My song of the day is in honor of all of the great and wonderful time spent with Brad...I choo-choo-choose all of the songs on the soundtrack...but the one song I choose for today is ISIS. (Not on the soundtrack) Brad and I love to sing along to every word in this song and drive our children crazy. We try to always remember to play it on the 5th day of May...in the drizzle and the rain.
For all the times we chop through the day and we chop through the dawn, when we go into the laundry and wash our clothes down, when the dividing line runs through the center of town----for all the times and the ways and the hows of this crazy life---
I love you Brad.
